PVT Member's Lounge

PVT Member's Lounge occupies a 40th-floor penthouse in Metro Manila, offering members-only dining with panoramic views of the city and menus from chefs around the world. The owners wanted every sense engaged, sound included, across a series of themed rooms: Cloudscape, Omakase, Vine, a Chinese Tea Room and a VIP Lounge, each with décor that could not be compromised. Local distributor and installer WESTCO Electrical & Equipment Corp proposed a complete K-array system, and a single demonstration was enough to win over the venue's designers.

Cloudscape, the largest restaurant, uses ten Lyzard-KZ14R ultra-mini line arrays and six Rumble-KU26 subwoofers powered by a Kommander-KA28. Omakase and Vine each received four Lyzard-KZ14R and two Rumble-KU26, with Vine adding two ceiling-mounted Lyzard-KZ1 speakers for background music and a Truffle-KTR24 subwoofer hidden in a shelf, all driven by one Kommander-KA18. The VIP Lounge's ornate ceiling called for the flexible Anakonda-KAN200+8, paired with a Rumble-KU210 subwoofer behind a false cabinet. A second Kommander-KA28 serves both the VIP Lounge and the adjoining All-Day Dining area, which has four Lyzard-KZ1 and a Rumble-KU26. In the slatted hallway, four KGEAR GF22 speakers sit within the ceiling slots and two KGEAR GS6 subwoofers sit flush near floor level, while two more GF22s cover the washrooms.

Guests have noticed the difference, enjoying fuller, clearer music that still leaves room for easy conversation. WESTCO supplied and installed the system, and Vincent Jason V. Peñalosa, its Vice President for Sales & Marketing, recalls that "One demo session with K-array products was all it took." The work is still ongoing, with Kayman-KY52 speakers, Rumble-KU315 subwoofers and a Kommander-KA104 planned, plus KGEAR GH4 and KGEAR GU210 units for four new al fresco dining areas.
