Hans Zimmer Live

Danley Sound Labs · North American tour

Hans Zimmer Live brings the Academy Award and Grammy-winning composer on stage with his band and an orchestral ensemble, performing scores from films such as Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, The Lion King and Dune. For the 2024 North American run, the low end was the hardest part of the brief.

Zimmer removes the capacitors from his keyboards so they can produce tones as low as 10 Hz, well below what most people can hear but very much something an audience can feel. Front of house engineer Colin Pink and his team needed subwoofers able to reproduce that range faithfully night after night, without the bottom octave simply disappearing.

They selected Danley's DTS10 subwoofer. Built around Danley's tapped-horn approach to low-frequency design, it gave the tour the extended, physical bass the music is written to deliver, so audiences experience the scores the way Zimmer intends them: heard and felt.
